An "exercise of style" for the Minbari Cruiser (Babylon 5) A totally retextured the model and the jump point to use more modern capabilities of Lightwave (B5 was orginaly done in lightwave 4)

I'd definatly take pointers from you, my greatest weaknesses are 1)i dont take my art serious enough... hehe ^^;; and 2) 3D,
i use 3D studio max and Lightwave before, however I still dont have a clue and I tend to lose my patience with 3D faster than 2D, in my quarter being here in art college i have to choose one or the other and of course i'll chose 2D, and hopefully, when I go live in England a few years after i graduate I plan to go take 3D in another college up there. But if there is any tips you can tell me now, PLEASE i'd greatly appreciate it!

Well, the big difference between 2D and 3D is technique IMO... You see, i'm a horrible drawer... but I'm a good technician and mathematician. In the picture above I've used various tools more or less randomly, it's only when i rendered it that I observed a head shape in the middle, then only I decided of the orientation of the picture... For space ship pictures it's very easy car it's technical and I've a lot reference for it (from SciFi shows)... So I would say that the first step to become good at 3D is learning a lot of techniques...

good tip,
next i need patience... ^^; I do need it, i'm horrible at 3D when it comes to patience as well. I open up the programme and I cry (figure of speech, i dont actually cry). I'm sure i'll get it within time :3 thanks again
